Carrying the Message of Farmers: Lobbying for Change on Behalf of Farmer Interests

Second of a two-part policy webinar series hosted by Center for a Livable Future and the Chesapeake Foodshed Network. Join this webinar to learn about the role of local, state, and national farm interest associations & groups in elevating the concerns of agricultural communities to decision makers. Through paid staff, advocacy organizations & associations can bridge the divide between grassroots, community needs, & government. It is important though that these associations continue to actively engage & listen to farmers in order to accurately reflect their concerns & needs. This webinar will focus on the role of paid advocates or lobbyists advocating for the needs of grassroots coalitions.

First webinar of the series, held October 17th, entitled "From Field to Capitol: Farmers as Advocates", featured 3 food & farm coalitions/councils engaged with direct advocacy & farmer engagement. Watch it here: https://youtu.be/QZgHNOiEoMw
