Value-Added: Turning Ideas into Action
At this workshop, Value-Added: Turning your Ideas into Action!, learn what it takes to launch a new value-added product, and get inspiration from seasoned producers. Joanna Benoit from the Western MA Food Processing Center will discuss key product considerations, regulations, and start-up costs, and a panel of producers — including Joan Walker of Walker Farm at Whortleberry Hill, Abe Hunrichs of Hosta Hill, and J. P. Welch of Justamere Tree Farm — will share their experiences assessing opportunities, refining recipes, getting funding, developing infrastructure, and more.
The event will take place at Northampton Senior Center, 67 Conz Street, MA. Dinner will be served. Local Hero member cost is $15 to attend just one workshop, or $25 to attend both. RSVP by April 10th to Kristen at 413-665-7100, ext. 12.
