New Entry Sustainable Farming Project
at Tufts University's Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy
New Entry, an initiative of Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, works locally, regionally, and across the country to strengthen local food systems by supporting new farmers. They serve and collaborate with the people, communities, and organizations in Massachusetts, the Northeast, and beyond!
New Entry has offered a 10% discount to NAFSN members who enroll in the Crop Production Course, Summer Edition.
Farm Business Planning Course October 8 – November 26, 2024. The course meets online on Tuesdays from 6pm to 8:30pm Eastern Standard Time for 8 consecutive weeks. Each evening session is filled with information and activities that will help participants write your farm business plan. Graduates of the course can apply to join New Entry’s Incubator Farm Program. The course is recognized by the Farm Service Agency (FSA) as fulfilling one of their financial management training requirements. The course has a fee of $450 with scholarships available and the 10% discount if signing through NAFSN.
2024 National FIELD School October 28 – 30, 2024. Join your peers who operate land-based farmer training programs to gather new ideas for programming, workshop collective challenges, build relationships, and advance our collective work. Join the field trips to local incubator and apprenticeship projects to see programs' land-based facilities, farm/ranch operations, and to learn together how each incubator farm and apprenticeship training program is unique. Gain new skills, meet new connections and be inspired! We have an early bird discount ending on September 13th and after that we can also offer the 10% discount if signing through NAFSN.
