Call for Leadership Nominations for 2025

The North American Food Systems Network (NAFSN) invites its members to consider applying for leadership positions on its Capacity Building Circle. There are two open leadership positions for the Jan-Dec 2025 term. These are volunteer positions. All participation is virtual. Please review our Operating Document (which acts as our bylaws) before applying. Applications are due Nov 15, 2024.

EXPECTATIONS:
These leadership positions require:
* monthly attendance at NAFSN Leadership Circle meetings 12pm-1pm ET in 2025 (Jan 8, Feb 5, Mar 5, Apr 9, May 7, Jun 4, July 2, Aug 6, Sep 3, Oct 1, Nov 5, Dec 3)
* quarterly attendance at Capacity Building Circle meetings (scheduled as a group)
* contribution to the work of the Capacity Building Circle in between meetings
* adherence to the guidelines of our Operating Document
* promotion of NAFSN and its mission

QUALIFICATIONS:
We currently seek leadership with:
* professional experience in nonprofit organizational capacity building and fund development;
* hands-on experience working in community-based food/agricultural organizations;
* lived experience representative of those most impacted by the challenges of conventional food systems.

PROCESS: 
Self nominations will be received through Nov 15, 2024.
All nominations will be reviewed by the Capacity Building Circle beginning Nov 19, 2024. 
A slate of finalists will be presented to the NAFSN Leadership Circle for consent on Dec 4, 2024.
Those selected for the positions will be notified by Dec 6, 2024.
All nominees will receive the results during the week of Dec 9, 2024.
Leadership orientation is Jan 8, 2025.

All members of NAFSN's Capacity Building Circle sit on its Advisory Board. NAFSN is a fiscally-sponsored project of the Center for Transformative Action, an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization affiliated with Cornell University and located on the original land of the Gayogohó:no’ (Cayuga) Nation.
