Tell Your SNAP-Ed Story

RELEASED BY THE NATIONAL FARM TO SCHOOL NETWORK ON MAY 17, 2025

As I noted in yesterday's email update on the budget reconciliation process, the package of cuts passed by the House Agriculture Committee would entirely cut SNAP-Ed funds. (This language is in Sec. 10011. National Education and Obesity Prevention Grant Program Repealer)

SNAP-Ed is a vital source of funds for farm to school and farm to ECE (Early Childhood Education) work. We want to educate policymakers, particularly members of the Senate Agriculture Committee, on how cutting this program would reduce agriculture and nutrition education taking place in their communities. We have a short window of time to raise awareness about the impact of this unexpected provision.

Have SNAP-Ed funds supported farm to school/ECE projects or positions in your state? We would love to share your stories!

Please reply directly or to the Partner list serv with information. Let us know whether it's ok to feature your story or quote in a public resource on the topic (and if you would be interested in doing a video interview on the subject).

Thank you again for all that you do!

Best,
Karen
