Tell Your Senators to Prioritize Young Farmers
Posted by the National Young Farmers Coalition on June 8, 2026:|
The Senate is preparing to release its Farm Bill proposal in the coming weeks, and we need your help to ensure young farmers' priorities are included. On April 30, the House passed its version of the Farm Bill, the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 (H.R. 7567). Young Farmers opposes the House bill as written because it fails to adequately address the challenges facing the next generation of farmers and ranchers. The bill falls short on equitable land access, critical nutrition and local food programs, and climate action tools that farmers need to build resilient operations. Now, the Senate has an opportunity to do better. Your Senator needs to hear directly from farmers about what is at stake. Young farmers are the future of agriculture in this country, and they deserve a Farm Bill that addresses the barriers they face, invests in their success, and helps build thriving farms, communities, and local food systems. I will follow up with you personally once the availability form is completed and we schedule a meeting with the Senate Office. We are prioritizing certain key states, and there are limited spots available.
