About the Company

Farm to Fork Garden Design is a small passionate company that is all about growing food and community. We educate individuals and communities to create sustainable ecological and organic farms. We work intimately with each other, and support each other like a true team. We are continuing to grow as more communities embrace growing their own food.

 

Farm to Fork Team

We are farmers, chefs, educators, arborists, bird-watchers, permaculturists, food activists, entrepreneurs and friends. Our Farmer will be part of this team.

 

Qualifications

  • Highly social, motivated, individuals, with the ability to multi-task, be flexible and a problem solver.

  • Fantastic customer service skills

  • Great organizational skills, attention to detail and standard of cleanliness

  • Ability to communicate clearly both electronically and oral applications

  • Ability to create and manage written work schedules for interns, and residents and effectively implement them

     

     

    Community Farmer is Responsible for Managing
    - Carrying out any and all tasks to keep garden thriving
    - Occasional farm tours
    - Communications and scheduling with community participants - Teach and interact with community members on daily basis
    - Lead seasonal growing classes to community
    - Be a team member on the Farm to Fork Team

    It is preferred Applicants have:
    - organic growing experience
    - Receptive to feedback
    - Willingness to learn new things and share knowledge and skills - Ability to work as a member of a team

    - Must be able to pass background and drug test

    - Must be a good communicator both written and oral

    - Must have some computer skills and able to utilize: Excel, Power Point, and Word, or equivalent and Social Media experience (Instagram/Facebook)
    - Must have reliable transportation that will be used on the job to transport farm supplies

- Must be able to lift 50 pounds from floor to chest and stand for 5 hours at a time

- Must be able to stand and kneel for long periods of time performing repetitive tasks
- Ability to work long hours in all weather conditions
- Duties will include and are not limited to harvesting, washing and packing of produce, transplanting, irrigation set-up and maintenance, weeding, helping to deliver when needed, farm facilities maintenance, farm supply purchases.

- Must implement sustainable practices such as water conservation, pollinator consciousness, soil care, etc...

**NOTE** working with and for development companies comes with specific demands,

requirements and need for versatility. Our Farmers are someone who understand the need for an area to be kept beautiful to keep homeowners happy, while also being willing to work with the marketing team to communicate about what’s happening on the farm. There are deadlines, bureaucracy and budgets outside of our control. However Development Supported Agriculture is one of the most beautiful ways to create a successful farm while educating and engaging a lot of people. In other words, it’s worth it.
