Innovations in State Policies and Implications for the Local and Regional Food Sector
The Federal government provided waivers (for example related to reimbursement for school meals) that
supported State and local innovations in response to the pandemic. As a result, policy and
programming responses to the pandemic have varied greatly across the U.S.
This webinar will highlight three areas of particular innovation: farmers markets, K-12 feeding programs,
and the meat processing sector. Panelists will discuss pivots and innovations in each of these spaces, as
well as the impacts of state and local responses to local and regional food system stakeholders.
