Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) Training

Good Agricultural Practices Online Training

July 23, 2020

9:00 am to 12:00 pm

Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) training will be offered online on Thursday, July 23, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm Central time. The training will be led by Annalisa Hultberg, U of MN Extension.

Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) are science-based, farm-level practices for keeping fresh produce safe. This training is strongly encouraged for farmers who grow fruit and vegetables for fresh eating - whether that be farmers' market sales, farmstand, or CSA; or sales to grocery stores, restaurants, and distributors.

Completing GAPs training and an on-farm food safety plan can be a useful way to market your products to buyers. Participants in this 3-hour training can receive a certificate of their participation.

[Note: This training does not qualify as the required training for compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act – Produce Safety Rule.]

Please register by 5 pm on Wednesday, July 22. This training will be conducted via Zoom and Zoom links will be send to registered participants only. If you have questions about this workshop contact: Jane Jewett, Minnesota Institute for Sustainable Agriculture,
